• 23 June: Thierry Henry joins Barcelona from Arsenal for an estimated £16M

• 29 August: Arsenal beat Sparta Prague 5–0 on aggregate to reach group stage of UEFA Champions League
• 31 August: Lassana Diarra joins Arsenal from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee
