ALthough he was known to direct several movies which achieved impressive gross collection (hence the phrase Mohaideen's Midas Touch), some critics claimed that the achievement is solely due to the movies' commercial attraction (i.e the popularity of the lead actors and actresses, CGI and sound effects, etc.) while lacking in the strength of the storyline, character development, and the script choice.
