HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (born 30 April 1972) is the United Arab Emirates minister of foreign affairs. He is the son of the founder of UAE, the First President, Emir (ruler) of Abu Dhabi, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed is well known for being a very active official in the UAE in the field of expanding and developing all sorts of relations between the country and other nations.



Son of HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, he is the younger half-brother of current emir and president, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He is also the younger brother of current crown prince, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

His elder half-brother, HH Sheikh Sultan, and elder brother HH Sheikh Hamdan were the Deputy Prime Ministers of the United Arab Emirates. His elder brother HH Sheikh Mansour and half-brother HH Sheikh Saif were succeed as the Deputy Prime Ministers.

Sheikh Abdullah is married to HH Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. He has 3 three children, HH Sheikha Fatima, HH Sheikh Mohammed and HH Sheikh Zayed.

Political career

After graduating from the United Arab Emirates University in 1995 with a qualification in Political Science, he was appointed by his father as Under Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Culture on 16 April 1995, under HE Khalfan bin Mohammed Al Roumi. On 23 March 1997, he was appointed as Minister of Information and Culture of the 6th cabinet.
