Adoor is a town and a municipality near
Pandalam in
Pathanamthitta district,
Kerala state,
India. The town is located midway between
Thiruvananthapuram and
Ernakulam. It is among one of the three municipalities in
Pathanamthitta district.
Etymology
It is believed that the name Adoor is derived from "attipperu avakaasam ulla ooru". Vanjipuzha Chief (
Land Lord from
Chengannur) got the "attipperu avakasam" (full ownership without
tax) from the
Maharaja of
Travancore.

The main attraction in Adoor is the
Krishna Sree
Parthasarathy Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, known here by the name of
