Akkineni Nagarjuna

Akkineni Nagarjuna () is an Indian film actor in Tollywood and Bollywood. He is a producer and one of the lead actors in Telugu cinema.

Early life

Nagarjuna was born on 29 August 1959 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to actor Nageswara Rao Akkineni and Annapurna Akkineni. The family later moved to Hyderabad where he attended Hyderabad Public School, and studied his "Intermediate" from Little Flower Junior College and B.E. (Mechanical) from the College of Engineering, Anna University and has completed M.S (Automobile Engineering) from Eastern Michigan University.

Telugu Cinema

Nagarjuna started off as a child actor, in the 1967 Telugu film Sudigundalu directed by veteran Adurthi Subbarao. He was then starred in his debut film Vikram, which was released on 24 May 1986. In 1988, he was starred in Aakhari Poratam directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. In 1989, he was starred in Geethanjali, a love tale directed by Maniratnam. The film cemented his status as a star.
