Alex Shumway (better known as
Alex Vincent) was the
drummer for the bands
Spluii Numa and, later, one the pioneers of the
grunge scene,
Green River. After Green River had broken up, Shumway moved to
Japan. He later moved back to the
United States and upon doing so began work in politics and labor union related organizations.
Today he is a stay-at-home father with his adopted daughters and continues to play music with .
In 2008,
Green River reunited and have played several live shows since. There are tentative plans for a new album, and possibly to tour.

Sub Pop record label and have played several live shows since. There are speculative plans for a new album, and possible tour.
In October of 2010 he was location producer for a semi-documentary film tentatively titled "
Big In Japan", directed by
John Jeffcoat.
