Alvi Awan of Birote

The Alvi Awan of Birote is a tribe who have been engaged in upgrading education, both religious and modern, to the people of Birote Circle Bakote for over 150 years. They came from Saleh Gali //www.humanitarianinfo.org/hic-pakistan/Maps/HIC-139-v03-05.pdf and Mohrhi Nerhat, Circle Qummikote, //www.fallingrain.com/world/PK/06/Mohri6.html District Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir in Birote in 1838. They have great religious, spiritual and Islamic traditional background. They are descendents of Hazrat Ali //ourislamonline.tripod.com/ali.htm bin Abi Talib from Non-Fatmid wife Hanfia who was a princes and daughter of Khosrau II King of Persia. His elder son was Mohammed Bin Hanfia //www.reviewpe.com/islam/important_issues_of-islaam/karbala.html bin Hazrat Ali, so she called Mother Hanfia.

Introduction to the tribe

The Alvi Awan of Birote belong to the Qutubshahi Awan sub-tribe of the Gondal Golrha (GOHER ALI SHAH) Awan . They settled in Birote on the invitation of the Kamlal Dhond Abbasi tribe from Qummikot, Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir.Their forefather Molana Mian Naik Mohammed Alvi built a mosque and taught the Qur'an and Islamic teachings.
