Amitava Nandy

Amitava Nandy (born 12 March 1943) was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Dum Dum constituency of West Bengal and is a member of the Communist Party of India (CPI(M)) political party. He has been one of the most successful MPs during his tenure. The most significant work Nandy has done for his constituency is facilitating the withheld project of the expansion of the Metro Railways between Dum Dum and Dakshineswar. Thousands .Nandy used to take a gigantic initiative in commemorating the 'Amar Ekushe February'(the Immortal 21st February) every year. This is, indeed, a significant endeavour to promote the cultural oneness between the two'Bengals'-once partitioned as a result of a political conspiracy. Amitava is an educated, intellectual and a valuable asset to the CPI(M).
