Aylesbury is a housing development in
Tallaght,
Ireland.
Aylesbury was built in the 1980s in the area historically known as
Old Bawn and although
Old Bawn still exists Aylesbury is now the larger settlement. The local
church, dedicated to
St Martin de Porres, opened its doors on 9 December 1976. Both the church and the Tymon Bawn Community Centre separate Aylesbury from the south part of Old Bawn.
Aylesbury has a local shopping centre and a medical clinic. It is also home to the 125th Old Bawn/Aylesbury Scout Group which is based the Tymon Bawn Community Centre since 1990.
It has a local GAA Club - , a nearby Golf Course - and the all based at Kiltipper Road, south of Aylesbury
It has a Community Centre called Tymon Bawn Community Centre which that Aylesbury doesn't own it but Aylesbury sits on 90% of Tymon Bawn Community Centre and 10% of it sits on Old Bawn - believe it or not that Tymon Bawn Community Centre only serves the people of Old Bawn and Watergate Estates since late 1960s and early 1970s and the Centre opening in June 1982 and the committee of Tymon Bawn Community Centre are known as Tymon Bawn Community Association. Some of the people of Aylesbury did put some money into the building of the Centre but never asked to be a part of the Tymon Bawn Community Association and still stands to this day.
