Barry Harris is
Canadian composer, artist, producer, musician,
remixer and
DJ. He created the band
Kon Kan (1988–1993), who had international top-five success with "I Beg Your Pardon". Initially issued on (now defunct) Toronto indie label Revolving Records, it was quickly discovered and signed by Atlantic Records U.S. by A&R rep Marc Nathan.
He later moved to Los Angeles (1997–2003) and created the production team
Thunderpuss, who produced hit remixes for
Madonna,
Britney Spears,
Christina Aguilera,
Whitney Houston,
Enrique Iglesias,
Jennifer Lopez,
Mary J. Blige,
Céline Dion, Cher, Janet Jackson,
Spice Girls,
LeAnn Rimes, among others.
After a four-year break from the music industry, Harris returned to the dance music scene in late 2009, producing, songwriting and remixing, and became the first producer-remixer to obtain a top-five
Billboard chart hit in each of the four decades, 80s 90s, 00s and now 10s.
Harris's discography includes additional co-written hits such as "Dive in the Pool" from
Queer as Folk (USA), and "Head" which appeared in
Will & Grace. "Dive in the Pool" and "I Got My Pride" featured artist,
Pepper Mashay. Both songs hit number two on the dance charts.
He won the
