The Golden Wave Band is the 250-member marching band of Baylor University. It performs both on and off campus and makes appearances at regional and state-level marching contests, including the UIL State Marching Contest and regional marching festivals. The music and drills performed by the band represent both traditional and contemporary marching styles.
The Golden Wave Band started in 1903 and became known by its current name after new uniforms were purchased in 1929. As the uniforms were golden in color one reporter stated that the band march on the land like a wave of gold, coining first the phrase.
