Description:
Benington is a village and civil parish in the East Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire, England, about four miles east of Stevenage and 35 miles north of London. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 922, which is now estimated at just over 1000.

It is a small, picturesque village set in the Hertfordshire countryside and has been described as one of the most attractive villages in the county. It has two churches, a primary school and two public houses.

The village has a strong farming history, and much of the surrounding countryside is still agricultural.
