Birsa Munda Airport is a public domestic airport serving the city of Ranchi, Jharkhand, India and is managed by the Airports Authority of India. It is located in Hinoo locality, approximately from the centre of the city. BMA used to be a small airport in terms of service, however with the growth of air traffic in India, BMA has also witnessed unprecedented growth in the last 2 years and several budget airline have added it to their route. As per the records of AAI (Apr 2010 - Mar 2011), around 360,000 passengers use the airport annually making it one of the fastest growing small airports in the country. Recently, the government has approved plans to expand the airport and a new terminal with few additional taxiways and better passenger facilities is already nearing completion.
