The Brisbane River Stage is an outdoor entertainment venue located on the Brisbane River, Brisbane, Australia. It has been used by many national and international acts through the years and is also used for annual community carols performances to ‘Sing for Water’ – a fundraising outlet staged as part of the Riverfestival.


Brisbane’s River Stage was officially opened on the 7th September 1989 by the Right Honourable Lord Mayor Alderman Sallyanne Atkinson, and has a two hectare site within the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens with a capacity of 9,000 people. It was inspired by the temporary and very successful River Stage used for World Expo '88 a year earlier, located on the opposite side of the Brisbane River at the Expo site. Now used for local, national and international music festivals and performances, the venue consists of offices, dressing rooms, kitchen facilities, a covered rooftop hospitality area and parking is available onsite.

British acts Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris performed a sideshow to the Big Day Out on 19th January 2010. This was Lily Allen's final musical visit to Australia.The Riverstage was formerly the venue for the touring Soundwave festival; having its first show there in 2007 and returning in 2008.Daft Punk performed on the Riverstage on 20 December 2007 as part of the NeverEverland tour.Other bands to play at The Riverstage include INXS, The Prodigy, Paramore, Them Crooked Vultures, Slipknot, Machine Head, Slipknot,......
