The Bronze Award is the third highest award in Girl Scouts of the USA. It was introduced by GSUSA in 2001, and can only be earned by Girl Scouts at the Junior level or higher. It is the equivalent of the Star Rank in the Boy Scouts of America.

  • Two badges whose content is related to the final Bronze Award project.
  • One of the Girl Scout Signs found in the Junior Girl Scout Handbook, such as Sign of The Star, Sign of the Sun and Sign of the Rainbow.
  • The Junior Aide Award, the Junior Girl Scout Leadership Award, or two badges having to do with Girl Scouting and leadership.
  • Only a Junior rank can earn this award.
Once these prerequisites have been completed, the final stage is a fifteen-hour service project that provides service inside or outside Girl Scouting.

These requirements are due to change by September 31st, 2011 to include the new Journey program. These requirements will include:
  • Complete a Junior Girl Scout Journey
  • Build your Girl Scout Junior team
  • Explore your community
  • Choose your Junior Girl Scout Bronze Award project
  • Make a Plan
  • Put your plan in motion
