Bruce Wayne (Amalgam Comics)

Bruce Wayne is a fictional character that appeared in Amalgam Comics' Bruce Wayne Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1, written by Chuck Dixon and with art by Cary Nord and Mark Pennington. Bruce Wayne is a combination of DC Comics' Bruce Wayne (the identity of Batman) and elements of Nick Fury from Marvel Comics.

History

Bruce Wayne was a young man whose spy parents were assassinated by members of HYDRA. Wanting revenge, Wayne enlisted in S.H.I.E.L.D. where he was trained by World War II veterans Nick Fury and Sgt. Rock. After promotion through the ranks, Wayne eventually used S.H.I.E.L.D. as a tool for his vengeance against Green Skull, who had killed his parents; though there were rumors that Wayne had used his father's money to buy S.H.I.E.L.D., rather than wait for promotion. Nick Fury commented that the number of times Bruce had killed to get to Green Skull had caused his soul to virtually disappear.

Bruce Wayne was last seen in HYDRA Base Omega fighting Selina Luthor and Baron Zero. He was not seen leaving the building, though, and it is unclear whether he survived the inferno that followed. However, Wayne does appear in JLX Unleashed #1 (1997).

Outside of S.H.I.E.L.D., Bruce Wayne enjoys a relationship with Barbara Hardy, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent operating under the name of Black Bat.
