Harvest Power is a young company not likely to be familiar to folks outside the circle of green living practitioners. It specializes in making syngas and biogas from organic waste products, amongst others food scraps, leftover wood, and green waste. These can then be transformed into natural gas, electrical power and heat. Hopefully Harvest Power will just be the beginning of businesses who will take unwanted organic materials to create soil enriching products as well as producing renewable energy. Our planet can use many more of these companies who will deal with organic wastes in a responsible way.
One of the best products of Harvest Power is its compost product that can be added to the soil increase nutrients and organic material. An remarkable benefit is that compost has a complete spectrum of essential plant nutrients. Chemical fertilizers often do not contain the macro and micronutrients present in compost, and so people realize more health benefits from ingesting plants grown utilizing natural compost. Adding compost to your garden is going to provide you a healthy garden, and the reason you would want that is because it will give you a more fit you. Chemical based plant foods damage the environment, fouling groundwater, contributing to disproportionate nitrogen levels, and making our soil more acid - these are all avoided by making use of organic compost instead. The presence of trace minerals, and insects and other organisms that are healthy for the soil, are multiplied with the addition of compost. Because the topsoil in cropland is being removed, it is important to use composting to bring the soil back to natural balance. If we want to live in a sustainable manner, it's essential to have healthy soil.
webpage Harvest Power has a wide field of activity, and the company likewise is engaging in good, related things like renewable energy, anaerobic digestion and engineered fuel technologies. Basically, anaerobic digestion involves decaying organic waste without the presence of oxygen to give rise to biogas, like methane. The positives of this include generating clean, renewable energy, diverting waste from landfills, rejuvenating nourishing soil with compost, eliminating the need for chemical fertilizers, and creating green jobs. Wouldn't it be terrific if all companies considered the environment and used green practices?
Continue Reading It's not possible for everyone to work for a green company, but there are a great deal of little things that all people can do. Most people were instructed from an early age to not waste food. But globally, great amounts of food are still being wasted. It's incredibly sad that approximately half of all food produced is wasted before it can be consumed (as calculated by a company from Stockholm). In 2004 a study discovered that 10% to 15% of edible food in the US was disposed of, amounting to approximately $43 billion. It would be terrible enough if it was just the food alone, but what about the amount of water being wasted? The same study found that 40 trillion liters of water yearly goes to waste in the US. That is plenty of water for half a billion people. We can all do something to conserve water.
