Calibre Sports is one of Melbourne, Australia's most successful Pistol Clubs.
Founding and organisation
Calibre Sports was founded in 1994. The club relocated to the Relic Custom indoor pistol range in 2000. In 2007 the Relic Custom facility ceased to operate, thus leaving the club with no home range. Arrangements have been made to use the Oakleigh Pistol clubs facitilies for our monthly club shoots while a new outdoor range can be sourced. It is organised as a Member-directed club, structured by a Constitution.
The club is affiliated with the worldwide shooting organisations IPSC and ICORE. It is also affiliated with the Victorian-based VAPA. In addition to in-house competitions, the club provides a successful stream of competitors in disciplines specified by the aforementioned organisations. Calibre Sports members regularly participate in National and International shooting events.
Calibre Sports co-ordinates the use of small (.22) to high (.357/.38) calibre pistols. Members regularly shoot competitions with .22, 9mm, .357mag and .38 calibre pistols.
