Carrefour Express is a supermarket chain, owned by the French Carrefour Group and operating supermarkets in several countries.
Romania
Carrefour Express operates 23 supermarkets in Romania. Until September 2008, the supermarkets were branded Artima. Artima was bought by Carrefour for €21 million in October 2007, with the rebranding to "Carrefour Express" taking place nearly a year later. Carrefour Express stores are local supermarkets, and are thus different to conventional Carrefour branches in Romania, which are hypermarkets.
