The University Science High School was established by virtue of the approval of BOR Resolution No. 1744 by the UST Board of Regents on April 15, 1956 during the incumbency of the University President Amando Tetangco.The school started with four offices and two rooms. The first 35 graduates in 1978 were those absorbed from the General Academic Curriculum.In 1979, BOR Resolution No. 1781 calling for the changing of the USHS to Agricultural Science High School was approved.The school opened its doors to first year applicants who qualified in the screening and passed the entrance examination. The slot was limited to 60. However, additional 10 slots for children of faculty and staff who ranked to 10 after the 60th slot were allotted, hence a total of 70 first year students.The school expanded to two sections per year level in AY 1988-89. Faculty members for different colleges/units were tapped to fill in the need for teachers.
