Cesare Bovo (born 14 January 1983 in
Rome) is an
Italian footballer who plays as a
defender for
Serie A club
Palermo.
Club career
Lecce & youth career
Bovo grew up playing in the renowned
AS Roma youth system, and was sold on a co-ownership bid to
Serie B club
Lecce in the 2002/2003 season, which Bovo was exchanged with
Mauro Rizzo who both tagged for €3M in although both lack of experience.
Lecce promoted to
Serie A and gave Bovo the opportunity to make his Serie A début in 2003.
Returned to Roma
In June 2004, he was bought back by Roma for a nominal fees of €10,000 Co-currently Rizzo returned to Lecce for undisclosed fees.
