The
Chery Cowin (in
Chinese: 旗云, Qiyun) (
A15 or
SQR7162), also known as
Flagcloud or
Amulet, is a 5 door, 1,600 cc petrol engine liftback produced in Wuhu, Anhui,
China and
Russia,
Ukraine,
Iran and
Malaysia by
Chery Automobile.
It is based on a restyling of the
Chery Windcloud (SQR7160, also known as the Chery A11
Fengyun), itself based on the first generation of the
SEAT Toledo, which was built on the
Volkswagen Group A2 platform. This is the same platform as is used in the second generation
Volkswagen Golf. The vehicle also has a fuel-efficient, low-emission engine. Chery Cowin has been authorized for being marketed it in Europe along with Russia, and in South America.
The company first launched the car in August 2003 as a successor to the Fengyun (Windcloud). The Flagcloud is now exported to more than 30 countries in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.
