Churchill Alemao

Churchill Braz Alemao (born 16 May 1950) is a MP of the 14th Lok Sabha of India and an alleged gangster. He represents the Mormugao constituency of Goa and is a member of the Indian National Congress.

In the 80's Churchill was allegedly involved in smuggling gold; in 1992 his brother Alvernaz Alemao was caught with a cargo of gold, he was killed after a struggle with a Customs Officer. Churchill was Chief Minister of Goa for a brief period in the early '90s, and later became an MP for Goa South.He is currently a Minister in the Goa State Government for Public Works Dept., Science & Technology and Rural Development.
