Civil Lines is a locality/township of
Allahabad,
Uttar Pradesh,
India. It is one of the major market areas of
Allahabad, and is famous for its
shopping malls,
hotels,
cinema halls and
restaurants. The area was built by the British during the heyday of the
British Raj and was a residential colony of the British at that time. The old Palace Cinema Hall is one of the prime examples of the
British architecture still prevalent in the area. The
Patthar Girja is a beautiful example of the British Architecture of that time and attracts many tourists for its beauty and elegance.
