CCLCM is a five-year program with the goal of training physician-scientists. The 3<sup>rd</sup> or 4<sup>th</sup> year is spent doing full-time research and a thesis is required for graduation.
On May 14, 2008 it was announced that all students entering the program would receive full tuition scholarships.

The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine is located within the Lerner Research Institute on the main campus of the Cleveland Clinic. The Cleveland Clinic has ranked consistently as one of the top hospitals in the country , with 10 specialties ranking in the top 10 in the country.
Every member of CCLCM's first graduating class successfully matched with a residency program in 2009.Between 2006 and 2009, 20 students received Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowships, including 2 students in the first year of the school's eligibility.
