Crews hill is a railway station in Enfield in the postcode EN2
; it is on an access road just off Cattlegate Road and is very close to the M25
. A subway links the down (northbound) platform with the entrance on the up (southbound) side.
The service from the station runs to Moorgate
on weekdays until about 9.30pm, and into London King's Cross
after 9.30pm Mondays to Fridays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Normally the service uses Class 313 EMUs
, as these are the only units cleared to Moorgate, although on weekends sometimes Class 317
EMUs are used instead.
The typical off-peak service is three trains per hour to Moorgate
, and three trains per hour to , with one per hour extended to Letchworth Garden City
. In the evenings, some trains skip the station to run fast between and .
The station is completely unstaffed and until recently no ticket machine was available, though a Shere ticket machine is being installed as of July 2009 (see entrance photo). As a result, the station is not a penalty fares
