D. P. Yadav

Dharam Pal Yadav in Hindi धरम पाल यादव is a politician in India, is better known as the "unrivalled don of western Uttar Pradesh". D.P Yadav is with the Bahujan Samaj Party of Mayawati. He became a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, from his own 2-member party, but was earlier associated with several parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Samajwadi Party. He fought the Indian general elections, 2009 with BSP, but lost.

Since 1989, he has served several terms as minister in the state government with Mulayam Singh Yadav. In 2004, he became a member of the Indian Parliament under the Bharatiya Janata Party.He recently won the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, 2007 from Sahaswan ).

Yadav's wife Umlesh Yadav, is also a state legislator, representing neighbouring Bisauli. The family's declared assets of Rs. 26 crores (USD 6 million) makes them the richest political family in Uttar Pradesh.
