Dalvi

Dalvi () is a Maratha clan found largely in Maharashtra, India.

History

The Dalvi Marathas claim descent from the Parmar Dynasty, a ruling clan of Rajputs hailing from Madhya Pradesh. The Dalvi capital is at Palvani, Soveli.

The Dalvi served in the armies of the Maratha Empire, and also served the Moghul Empire in Dabhol Province, Maharashtra. The clan also played a role in the Surat Plundering War under Maratha king Shivaji.<!-- THIS INFO BELONGS IN AN INFOBOX
