Dari Alexander (born October 26, 1969) is the co-anchor of
WNYW's
FOX 5 News at 5 and
FOX 5 News 10 newscasts, along with Ernie Anastos. She was previously the weeknight 6 p.m. newscaster, and previously a
reporter and part-time anchor for the
Fox News Channel.
In January 2006, Alexander and Fox News colleague,
Rick Folbaum, were reassigned to
WNYW's 6 p.m. news telecast, replacing
Lyn Brown and
Ernie Anastos. Brown continued to anchor the
midday edition of
Fox 5 News until her retirement on June 30, 2007. Alexander and Folbaum have respectively substituted for the stations main anchors,
Rosanna Scotto and
Ernie Anastos, for the 5 and 10 p.m. news shows. They have also substituted on
Good Day New York. She has occasionally anchored the weekend shift at
channel 5.
Prior to joining FNC, Alexander served as a weekend anchor/reporter for
WFAA-TV (
ABC) in
Dallas and as a reporter/fill-in anchor at
WCMH-TV (
NBC) in
Columbus, Ohio. She was also a weekday fill-in anchor at
WHBF-TV (CBS) in
Rock Island, Illinois.
Alexander began her career working as a reporter for a local
Long Island news station and later, as an associate producer for
CBS. She is a graduate of
Mount Holyoke College and
