David B. Axelrod (born July 29, 1943) is a poet and educator. He was born in
Beverly, Massachusetts, where he lived until his college years.His education included a B. A. from
University of Massachusetts, 1965; M. A. from
The Johns Hopkins University Writing Seminars, 1966; M. F. A. from the
University of Iowa Writing Workshops, 1967; and his Ph. D. from
Union Institute, 1977.A current resident of Daytona Beach, Florida, he spent forty years on Long Island between the years 1969 and 2009. He is an author and sponsor of international writers’ programs covering dozens of countries and nearly forty languages. He has performed and taught as an author and educator lecturing in England, France, Sicily, Italy, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, Hong Kong and throughout the People's Republic of China.He is, himself a student of ten languages, author of nineteen books and many articles. Axelrod's work has been translated and published in numerous languages including Albanian and Bulgarian, Chinese and Japanese, Hebrew and Yiddish, Italian and Sicilian, Greek and Macedonian, Russian and Romanian, French and Creole, Spanish and Portuguese, German and Dutch among others.In honor of his book ANOTHER WAY: Poems Derived from the
