Deportivo Pereira is a professional
soccer team of the
Colombian city of
Pereira. Founded in 1944, its traditional colors are red and yellow. It plays in the
Estadio Hernán Ramírez Villegas.
History
Deportivo Pereira is the only professional team in the department of
Risaralda where there are also several boxes of the First C seeking promotion to the B.
In the
season 1949, Deportivo Pereira made its debut in
Colombian Professional Soccer, replacing University, founded in club
Bogota, but last season they had played in the 'Pearl of Otún'.
In more than fifty years has never been champion of the first division, reaching four third places in their best presentations. The last of it, in 1974.
