Diamond Jubilee Higher Secondary School
(DJHSS) is a boys-only secondary school in Gobichettipalayam
, in the Erode District
of Tamil Nadu
. It was established to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee
celebrations of Queen Victoria
in 1898. The school has served the educational needs of Gobichettipalayam
and nearby villages for more than a century. The school was the role model for the PSG and Sarvajana institutions of Coimbatore. A noted headmaster of the school was Thiru. K.M.Ramasami Gounder, who shaped the lives of thousands of students in the region. He also founded Gobi Arts College. He served as District Board Member, MLC and MLA.
DJHSS has some 2,300 students and 60 staff., The Hindu
