Dima Hasao district
(formerly, North Cachar Hills district
) is an administrative district
in the state of Assam
in north-eastern India
. The district headquarters are located at Haflong
. The district occupies an area
of 4888 km². This district was renamed as the present on 1 April 2010.
The distrit is globally known for a place named Jatinga '

At the end of monsoon
months especially on moonless and foggy dark nights between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., birds are disturbed by the locals and they are attracted to lights.
