Ebrahim Rasool

Ebrahim Rasool (born 15 July 1962, Cape Town, South Africa) was the Premier of the Western Cape province in South Africa. He is a member of the African National Congress.

On July 14, 2008, Rasool was fired from the position of premier by the National Executive Committee of the ANC. His successor was Economic Development and Tourism MEC Lynne Brown.

In July 2010, Rasool was appointed South Africa's ambassador to the United States, following an affair in which a local journalist admitted that he had received bribes from Rasool to write positive stories.
