Eurobank EFG is a Greek-owned bank in Serbia, the local arm of EFG Eurobank-Ergasias. The full name of the Serbian branch is Eurobank EFG Štedionica Akcionarsko Društvo Beograd, and its headquarters are at Kolarčeva 3, Belgrade.
Eurobank EFG Štedionica came into existence on October 23, 2006 when the merger between EFG Eurobank Beograd and Nacionalna štedionica (both majority owned by EFG Eurobank-Ergasias) became official.
According to its most recent annual financial report submitted to Serbian Economic Register Agency, the company has 1,385 employees and it posted an annual profit of RSD1,318,696,000 (approximately €16.5 million at the time) for the calendar year 2007.<small>
EFG Eurobank-Ergasias' history in Serbia
On March 27, 2003, Greek bank EFG Eurobank-Ergasias acquired 68.06% stake in Serbian bank Postbanka.
During 2004 EFG Eurobank-Ergasias increased its stake in Postbanka to 93.5% and officially changed its name to EFG Eurobank Beograd.
In August 2005, EFG Eurobank-Ergasias purchased 100% stake in another Serbian bank - Nacionalna štedionica - and promptly carved it organizationally under the umbrella of EFG Eurobank Beograd (though initially keeping Nš namebrand).
During 2006, EFG Eurobank-Ergasias started work on merging its two Serbian entities. The merger became official in October 2006.
