- Another Enamul Haque also played for Bangladesh
Enamul Haque (born December 5, 1986 in
Sylhet), known as
Enamul Haque jr to distinguish him from
Enamul Haque, who also played for
Bangladesh, but was not related to him, is a
Bangladeshi cricketer. He currently plays for his home team, Sylhet Division.
He is a right-handed batsman and bowls a slow left-arm delivery. His Test debut occurred against
England in at
Dhaka in 2003. His best bowling occurred in the second Test against
Zimbabwe in January 2005 (as of 27 April 2006,
Bangladesh's only victory in Test cricket). He took 7 wickets for 95 runs in the first innings, and 5 wickets for 105 runs in the second, making this the only ten wicket haul he has bowled. He is the first
Bangladeshi to have taken 7 wickets in a Test innings, although
Shakib Al Hasan has also achieved this, and 12 wickets in a Test match.
His highest batting score is a 24 not out, which he achieved against
Zimbabwe.
Enamul returned to the ODI side in 2009 after a gap of three years when he was selected in the squad to face Zimbabwe in three matches and a tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. He was selected in the absence of first-choice veteran spinner
Abdur Razzak and because he had a good record against Zimbabwe.
