Estonian Aviation Academy

before 1996) is a state-owned professional higher education institution providing aviation diplomas and training of aviation specialists in Estonia
. The studies are conducted in accordance with the standard curricula meeting the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Estonia, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Eurocontrol. The current rector of the EAVA is Jaan Tamm.
The Mission of Estonian Aviation Academy
The mission of EAVA is to provide contemporary, high-quality and efficient aviation education for the specialists needed in Estonia, to carry out applied research in the field of aviation, to promote international co-operation, research and development in conformity with international aviation standards.
EAVA is situated in two study and research centres – one at Tähtvere, Tartu
, and the other at Ülenurme
, Tartu County
. The would-be ATCs and pilots have most of their classes at Ülenurme which also hosts an airport. The students of the specialties of Communication and Navigation Systems Management, Aviation Company Management and Aircraft Maintenance have most of their classes at Tähtvere.
