Etobicoke North is a federal
electoral district in
Ontario,
Canada, that has been represented in the
Canadian House of Commons since 1979. It covers
Rexdale, the northern part of
Etobicoke, which is part of
Toronto.
The
riding was created in 1976 from parts of
Etobicoke and
York West. In the House of Commons, the riding has been represented by Liberal
Kirsty Duncan since 2008. In the Ontario Legislature, it has been represented by
Shafiq Qaadri since 2003. On
Toronto City Council, the northern half of the riding is represented by
Vincent Crisanti, and the southern part by
Doug Ford, Jr.
Geography
The riding consists of the northwestern part of the City of
Toronto. The eastern boundary is the
Humber River East Branch and the Humber River from Steeles Avenue West south a point just to the east of to Dixon Road. The southern boundary runs west fro the Humber River along
Dixon Road and
Highway 401 to the western limit of the city. The western and northern limits of the ridings are formed by the city limits.
