The event holds musical performances of many genres, including Salsa, Jazz, Merengue, Folk, Flamenco, Cumbia, Reggaeton, and Hip-Hop. Other returning favourites of Expo Latino include Oliver Miguel, Pana Band and Ache Brasil.

The 2006 event ran from August 22–27 in Prince's Island Park, including an opening ceremony on the 22nd and a concert by Fuego Latino on the 23rd at the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts, with the main festival events running from the 25th to 27th.
