Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (10 August 1945 – 2 August 1990) was the founder of the Kuwait Olympic Committee. His elder brother was the Emir of Kuwait. Sheikh Fahad was married and was succeeded by his five sons and one daughter:

He was killed by Iraqi troops during the Invasion of Kuwait at Dasman Palace.


Al-Sabah was educated in Kuwait for his primary and secondary schooling. Then he trained at and graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK.

Military career

  • 22 April 1963: Joined the Military of Bahrain as an assistant officer
  • 30 July 1964: Accepted a scholarship to join the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
  • 19 July 1965: Promoted to Second Lieutenant
