) is the governor of Jakarta for the 2007-2012 term. He previously served as deputy governor.
He has worked for the Jakarta administration since 1987 and was treasurer of the Golkar
organization from 1993 to 1997. On 8 August 2007 he was elected governor of Jakarta (2007–2012), beating his only rival Adang Daradjatun 57.9% to 42.1% in the first ever election for the post. He was inaugurated on 7 October 2007.
