Fernando Dinarte Santos Silva

Fernando Dinarte Santos Silva, simply as Fernando (born October 3, 1980 in Funchal, Madeira), is a Portuguese footballer who plays for C.S. Marítimo in the Portuguese first division.

Mainly a central defender, he can also appear as a defensive midfielder.

Football career

After beginning professionally with Madeira's Associação Desportiva da Camacha, Fernando joined local powerhouse Club Sport Marítimo in 2000–01, but served only as a backup for the majority of his first campaigns.

On September 30, 2007, in a 1–1 draw away to C.F. Estrela da Amadora, Fernando scored the clubs' historical 1,000 goal in the top flight. However, he only appeared in five contests during that season.
