Fernando Soriano Marco (born 24 September 1979 in Zaragoza, Aragon) is a Spanish footballer who plays for UD Almería in the Spanish second division, as a defensive midfielder.

He is best known for his tireless, hard-working approach.

Football career

A product of hometown Real Zaragoza's youth ranks, Soriano was loaned to second division side Recreativo de Huelva before appearing with the first team, which would befall during the following season, also in the second level.

In La Liga, Soriano proved a very useful midfield element. During 2003–04, he scored the winner in 2–1 triumphs over Racing de Santander and FC Barcelona, while also helping the Aragonese side win the 2004 Spanish Cup.

In 2005–06, Soriano joined UD Almería, netting seven goals in his first season. He was an instrumental figure in the side's first ever top division promotion the next campaign, reuniting with former Zaragoza teammate Corona in 2007–08, as the Andalusians overachieved for a final 8th place.
