Description:
The First Martin Ministry was the 42nd ministry to come from the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly. It was the first ever Australian Labor Party ministry in the history of the Northern Territory, and was sworn in on 27 August 2001 after Clare Martin's victory in the 2001 election. It included the first ever female Chief Minister in Martin, as well as the first ever indigenous minister in John Ah Kit. It lasted until 12 November 2001, when Martin made some portfolio changes and installed a more permanent ministry.
