Four Seasons Yorkville Hotel is a 31 floor hotel in the Yorkville district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

History

The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto was formerly the Hyatt Regency Toronto. The first Four Seasons hotel, Four Seasons Motor Hotel opened in 1961 at 415 Jarvis Street near Carlton. Built by architect Peter Dickinson, it operated as a motor inn (demolished and replaced by townhouses),. The Four Seasons Hotel in Yorkville, was the fourth hotel operated by Four Seasons in Toronto, a brutalist structure complemented and later replaced the earlier hotel Inn on the Park as the main Four Seasons hotel in Toronto. The fourth hotel was opened during the period when Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts began building more luxurious hotels, especially when compared with the Inn on the Park.

The Yorkville site is located at the northeast corner of Yorkville Avenue and Avenue Road. The hotel was home to the renowned Truffles Restaurant, as well as the Lobby Bar and chic Avenue Lounge. The hotel has a total of 380 rooms including 181 suites.

Four Seasons Hotel is one of several downtown hotels used by stars and VIPs visiting Toronto. It is a desirability is due in part to the proximity to posh Yorkville area.
