Frank Joseph LaCorte (October 13, 1951 in San Jose, California), is a retired professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1975-1984. He would play for the Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, and California Angels. On May 25, 1979, Frank was traded from Atlanta to Houston for P Bo McLaughlin. He was best known as a member of the 1980 National League Western Division champion Astros. Along with Joe Sambito and Dave Smith, LaCorte was an integral part of the club's successful bullpen. His statistics from the 1980 season were his career best in wins (8), era (2.82), games (55), games finished (44), and saves (11).
Upon his retirement from baseball, LaCorte moved back to Gilroy, California where he was raised, and purchased a tow truck business named Marx Towing. His wife is a former beauty pageant queen and they have been married for over thirty years and have two grown children.
