Gevrai is a tehsil in the Beed district of Maharashtra, India.

Geography

Gevrai is located at . It has an average elevation of 465&nbsp;metres (1528&nbsp;feet).

It lies on National highways No 211 connecting Solapur - Osmanabad - Beed - Aurangabad - Dhule in Maharashtra.

Demographics

India census, Gevrai had a population of 28,492. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Gevrai has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 58%. In Gevrai, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.Gevrai is the Taluka place in Beed district.

Current Amdar(MLA) of the Taluka is Badamrao Pandit.Other active politicians are Badamrao Pandit,Yudhajeet Pandit,Radheshyam Attal.Basically all Pandit Politicians are from nearby village called Daithan (Panchayat place).

Georai is famous for agriculture in cotton and sugar cane. There are 8 to 10 cotton ginning and 2 sugar cane factories in 20&nbsp;km distance.
