Gharana Mogudu () is a very popular Telugu film which has Chiranjeevi, Nagma in the lead roles. The movie was directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and was a sensational hit. It was released on April 9, 1992. The movie was the first Telugu film to gross over 100 million rupees. It made Chiranjeevi the highest paid actor in India, prompting him to be catapulted to cover pages of all national weekly magazines and India Today had a caption, "Bigger Than Bachchan". This film was a remake of hit Kannada film Anuraaga Aralitu, acted by legendary Dr. Rajkumar based on a Kannada novel. This film was also remade as Mannan starring Rajini Kanth. There was a Hindi remake of this movie named Laadla in which Anil Kapoor and Sridevi played the lead roles. It was not as commercially successful as southern versions.


Raju (Chiranjeevi) is a do-gooder who helps his co-workers in a Visakhapatnam shipyard, but when his mother suffers a paralytic stroke, he moves back to Hyderabad and looks for a job.

Uma Devi (Nagma) daughter of industrialist Bapineedu (Raogopal Rao) takes over the business from her father and helps it to reach new heights which also sees her head-strong ways reach new heights. In this scenario, she not only rejects Ranganayakulu's (Kaikala Satyanarayana) son's marriage proposal but insults them when the father-son duo show up at her house.
