GMAC Real Estate was a
real estate franchise company in the United States, with 1300 locations in North America, and more than 22,000 real estate agents. The company is a division of GMAC Home Services, which was acquired by
Brookfield Properties in 2008. It was merged into sister brand
Real Living in 2009.
GMAC Real Estate was founded in 1998, when GMAC bought the "
Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate" brand from
Meredith Corporation (which had and continues to publish the magazine). Sub-brands operated by GMAC Real Estate include "Elegant Homes", "GMAC Real Estate Second Homes", and "Home Rewards". The company differentiated itself from its competition by focusing its internal efforts and external marketing on "service", through its branded "Premier Service" program.

Company owned offices were located in major metropolitan markets including the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, metro New York, Boston and elsewhere throughout New England.
