Godzilla (song)

"Godzilla" is a song by Blue Öyster Cult from their 5th album Spectres. A lyrical homage to the popular movie monster, it is, along with " The Reaper" and "Burnin' for You", one of Blue Öyster Cult's best known songs and has become a staple of their live performances. It has been covered by bands such as Racer X, Fu Manchu, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sebastian Bach, Fighting Gravity and others.

Allmusic author, Donald A. Guarisco, notes that, "Blue Öyster Cult's recording pulls the song into heavy metal territory with a guitar-heavy arrangement that bursts out of the gate with a low-slung guitar riff worthy of Black Sabbath,".

Trivia
